My RX480 GPU keeps crashing my whole pc

tJuggernaut29

for the past year-ish, if I play games on anything more than very low settings at 1080p my games start stuttering badly or my computer hangs and needs a restart to fix.

with task manager open, I can see that temps are fine, GPU only hits ~70C even with 100% usage.

When the screen freezes, my monitor says "no display input detected", and if I do things that would make a noise, like moving volume wheel, no feedback. The only way to get out of the freeze is to hit the restart button on my case.

I have all that latest windows updates, drivers, and graphics updates, and this has been happening for quite some time across many updates. It seems to be getting worse though.

I am not running any kind of overclock, and have even tried underclocking, but it made no difference. I dont think it is a thermal issue either.

Parts list found here

Thanks for the help :)

i curiously want to know that long story lol....

anyways i guess its the psu, i would buy a psu off of amazon since you can return it. and try it to see if anything happens. but before that i would reinstall windows with new drivers.

the other thing is oddly enough, i never got XMP to work with my RAM. It would always cause instability. IDK if relevant or not
