display others company logo issue

I wish to create a website with almost the same purpose as this guy posting his concern on reddit.

My concern is would I still need their consent when creating a table listing the respective website links instead of the logo?

I might also mention their company name in the table.

As long as it doesn't falsely appear in anyway that

• You are partnered or in someway affiliated with them
• They are endorsing you or or website

or that the content of your website would be something that they do not want to be associated with, then i can't imagine there would be any issues. At most you may get an email from them saying "hey, please remove us from your website". But unless you're doing something malicious or illegal then they wouldn't exactly be able to just outright sue you.
