Depends on the camera.

A Hasselblad used to be the gold standard and Kodak was the most popular film.  I had some point and shoot film cameras that took decent pictures but then the quality of the developer and paper and skill of the tech (or yourself) factored in.

Digital is the way now, however, printing can get expensive, but you have all the best shots instead of burning dozens of photos that didn't turn out.

Analog film would be mostly digitally printed these days I'd imagine.

Biggest diffrences IMO
1. Dynamic range

2. Over all look

3. Easie of use
4. Timeline for review/ accessibility

Personally I recommendation trying film at least once.... You'll have a new lease on photography.
Also, it'll teach you to slow down and add more meaning to anytime you press the sutter botton.

Depends on your use case. In general the reason most people shoot film these days is for:

1. The look. Film generally has colors and looks that change with the film you use. Think of it being like having the ability to change the sensor on your camera whenever you wanted. Fine grain, cool colors, whatever you want.

2. The process. Analog photography is a much more "connected" experience to your work, especially when you use very old cameras like a pentax spotmatic or a film leica. Having to imagine your scene without chimping is really fun. And all the manual dials and lack of handholding really make you connected to the pictures you take. It's a fun experience and one every photographer should experience every now and again.

Another reason someone might consider film photography would be larger formats. With digital, even today, there is very little progress in the medium format and large format spaces. The sensors are still crop from their original film formats and you can never really achieve the same field of view or the raw quality of a 4x5 field camera or even a 6x7. Not even gonna mention 8x10 because we all know a digital 8x10 will NEVER happen anytime soon lol!

So film has its reasons to exist. Be it purely for aesthetic, hobby or practical purposes. The actual look of film isn't actually easy to nail down since it changes with the film you use. Sometimes a film shot will look as good or better than a digital shot depending on the format used.
