Laptop cam not working

I went to record a video for school and uh my camera won't output. I tried restarting my PC to see if mabey it was a driver issue or something and I also tried a 3rd party software and it's still doing this. Idk what to do.

This is the first time I've ever tried to use it. I bought it new less than a month ago so I assumed it wasn't broken. And there's a clear camera led and lens so it's not like it doesn't have a webcam.

It's the basic windows app. I also tried some random one I found online.

Could be a driver issue. Are there any errors in Windows Event Viewer? Does Windows Device Manager show that it is working and list the driver version? Check for a driver update on the manufacturer's website.

 

You could also try xsplit vcam (free download) or Snap Camera or OBS (all free).

 

If all else fails, get a cheap external USB webcam off Amazon, NewEgg, or somewhere like that.
