Ethernet Gaming router

Does anyone know a good router for gaming that i will use only for ethernet?

Do you want wifi? What bandwidth?

 

Most routers will be about the same, but good QOS can be nice with something like a edge router can be nice.

Well what router you need depends on a few things. Firstly your internet speed package. While many routers offer Gigabit WAN, most of them cant handle Gigabit internet as the CPU's are too weak. So for very fast connections you need to really look at the specs and pay attention to the LAN to WAN and the WAN to LAN Throughputs. The second thing you need to figure out is what WiFi standard. You might be able for example to find a really nice WIFi 5 router at an affordable price compared to a WiFi 6 model. Not to mention WiFi 6e could be out soon, that will add 6 Ghz in to the mix and might give some improvements. 

 

The next thing is what features you want. As mentioned above QoS is a nice feature, really useful if you have a shit connection. One feature my router has is the ability to keep track of data usage per device, which is nice considering the 1.2 TB cap Comcast imposes on us.
