Hey everyone, quick question here!

Here's my build:

  • CPU
    Ryzen 5 2600x
  • Motherboard
    Gigabyte b450M DS3H
  • RAM
    16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200mhz
  • GPU
    Zotac GTX 1650 Super
  • Case
    Fractal Focus G - White
  • Storage
    1TB WD Blue SN550 NVMe M.2 SSD
  • PSU
    Corsair CX650 80+ Bronze
  • Display(s)
    Onn 24"
    • Cooling
      Cooler Masters Hyper 212 BE / x2 Noctua NF-F12 PWM chromax.Black.swap

      PSU : Corsair CX650

To get onto the point, I want to run dual monitors (One using HDMI to HDMI and the other running DVI to HDMI) and was I was wondering if it'll draw too much power than my PSU can handle or will it ruin or degrade my GPU faster than normal!

Gaming Rig:

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -30 Curve  | Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE  |  ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Twin Edge OC 12GB  | Patriot Viper Venom 16GB CL30 6000mhz  |  ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI  | WD Blue SN550 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD, 2TB Samsung 870 EVO, 1TB Samsung 870 EVO, 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD | Corsair 4000D Airflow  | Corsair RM850x Gold Series

I was referring to my GPU as it has to output to two monitors instead of one

additional monitors don't really draw power, as they have their own power supplies.

my statement doesn't change.  (Also you did say PSU)

Anyways:  One the desktop the difference between 1 screen and 2 on your GPU is basically nothing.  In gaming?  Well, it's twice as much rendering.

I get it with gaming but I am only going to be using it for Discord, and other things that aren't gaming. Reason for this entire post was these two things:

1: Can my PSU handle the extra power draw from the GPU

2: Will the GPU degrade faster than normal using dual monitor.

1.) It will draw ~5w more at idle, and an identical amount on full load. The only way your PSU won't be able to handle your GPU is if it already can't

2.) No. Rendering an extra monitor really isn't that much more work.

A 2nd monitor running Discord, YouTube, Twitch, etc. doesn't really add any noteworthy load for a modern-ish GPU. You're completely fine. If your PSU can handle the GPU now it will be able to with 2 monitor.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
