Brightness flicker

Hello. Can someone recommand me a monitor that doesnt suffer from brightness flicker ? It seems not only VA panels suffer from this, IPS too. Mine (VA 35 inch 4k 120hz AOC AG352UCG6) has the brightness flicker even with G-sync off and cap at 115 fps and it's absolutely horrible. Ideally I want a 2k/4k with at least 120hz not under 30 inch, max 700-800$.. Just checked an IPS from Alienware, AW3418DW and it has the brigtness flickering problem too...I don't know what to buy anymore seems all have this.Thanks

You probably mean flickerfree technology? How does it flicker? I mean how do you see it? Headache? Eye strain?

Great answers. One sais his grandma used to turn things on and off when they weren't working (seems that comment was removed by a mod) and one asks if i see it as a headache... are you even serious ? No man, i see it with my eyes as it flickers ! If you didn't heard about this common VA panel problem why even comment ? And no it's not due to fps exceeding my monitor's 120hz refresh rate. Fps is capped at 115 and fps is constant. It happens on desktop too, photoshop, spotify. Doesn't have to do anything with framerates and happens with G-sync off too. Most VA have this, many IPS too. I want a mod to close this thread, thanks. I thought this was a serious forum, I only received joke answers but at least now you know what is brightness flickering.

I had the AOC AG352UCG6 for a long time and never had any flickering that was the monitor's fault.

 

I had flickering in Witcher 3 but after playing around with the ingame options i found out that was caused by the "sharpening" option. Disabled that and everything was back to normal.

You either talk with respect or else fuck off. I tried to help despite you haven't provided any video while you have the monitor. You CAN HAVE headache by displays that are not flickerfree certified. Or if you would have done more research: flickerfree displays and you could have seen terms like PWM and DC dimming. Displays that are not flickerfree causes health issues and the lower the brightness, the worst the flicker will get. You won't see it with your eyes but it's definitely there.

If there really is permanent flickering that is a panel defect. I've used a bunch of VA and IPS monitors and none had the problem you describe or what is shown in your videos. But funny how most of the problem examples are on Samsung Odyssey monitors again

 

If you want a recommendation on a good IPS ultrawide, the LG 34GN850-B or LG 34GP83A-B are pretty much the best. Both are pretty much identical so get whatever model is cheaper.

 

Also, you literally waited 12 hours after posting and then started crying about how you didn't get any help. Give it some time. A forum is NOT just a chat room where you get instant answers all the time.
