So I've been looking at this page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_1100_Series

Release date: Approx 2017.

So will we be able to game in 4K at 120+ FPS in 2017 with a GTX 1180 for example?
I hope we will finally see some big improvements in the next few generations of GPUs by nVidia.

I feel like they are holding back the real technology they can already provide us.

manufacturers always have to hold back because of low yields (low percentage of chips that end up being usable)

as well as the manufacturing process. Right now NVIDIA is having trouble with it's supplier who is not yet fully equipped for making 20nm GPU chips.

By 2017 I would be surprised if we weren't trying to push 8K+ like we are 4K now.

We need exponential grow in terms of GPU horsepower each generation to even think about 8K, but what if there isn't any need to go above a certain resolution? How will display techniques evolve and what could we do more, better or new for normal displays and GPUs to game on?

Just curious about the future, but who isn't?

True. I think after 4K it's more about panel technologies. It's like cases, there's really not much left to do without something completely new. I just wonder what will happen if we don't start pushing higher resolutions to GPU upgrade cycles.

What about pre-installed watercooling loops in the case where you can simply plug in your GPU and CPU block on there and you're ready to go?

Would be a good solution to people who want a custom loop watercooling loop without doing the loop itself but do want to build the rest of the configuration themselves.

Pre-installed integrated watercooling loops could be done really well if the case manifacturer does it themself.

Just a thought..

That sounds like it would ruin all my fun :P
