Laugh at me. Go Ahead, I'm Poor: The ULTIMATE Compaq Presario CQ62

Espresso1760

Budget (including currency): My Budget is $150 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Lower end games (Roblox, maybe, that's the least demanding thing I can think of.), Discord, Music Creation/Mixing software.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Heres My Current list of parts that NEED Replacing:

- HDD (SATA-300)

- Power Button (Okay, Okay, broke that...)

- Battery

- Charger

- Thermal Grease

That's what I need. But, Before I get to what I want, Lemme tell you a bit about this piece of 'fine worksmanship':
Model: CQ62-219WM

Made: Sometime in 2010

Current Processor: Intel Celeron 900 at 2.2 Ghz (Ewwwwwww!)

Ram: 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM

Webcam: Heck to the nope. None.

Chip Architecture: Intel GL40 - 2006 called. They want Their Chipset back.

Now, Within $150, How could I spice this up? I've got some high Hopes for this thing, Some things might not be able to happen. Have at the Comments! Parts suggestions!

Bruh

Just buy another used laptop, maybe you can find a cheap 2nd or 3rd gen laptop, that one is basically ewaste since celerons are slow asf due to their tiny cache, so even if you do overclock it, it aint gonna do much

Like no joke.

You can buy a i5 dell laptop with 8gb of ram and a ssd in it that OBLITERATES this thing for under 150$ without much searching. Ebay is FULL of them.

This laptop don't waste another cent on it it's done for.

Is there any particular reason you want to sink that much money into such an old, low end machine? The CPU you currently have only has one core. ONE. There's basically nothing you could do within that budget to make that computer capable of much of anything. However, that budget is plenty to get you a MUCH more powerful used laptop.
