LTT videos in HDR

Go to solution Solved by gamerstarwars,

This is both a post aimed at the LTT community in general and also to Linus and the rest of LMG. @LinusTech @Slick

I am a video editor who specializes (among other things) in converting SDR to HDR content. The process is known as inverse tone mapping or also, up-mapping. Editors who have an HDR workflow is pretty rare due to the additional work involved and finding an editor who’s competent at up-mapping is exponentially more rare.

The work LMG does is nothing short of amazing and I’ve been a fan since the NCIX days. I would love to convert every video LMG has ever produced to HDR; LTT videos, WAN show episodes, Short Circuit videos, Tech Linked videos etc.

I’ll work for whatever Linus feels is fair, if he thinks 1 cent per video is what it’s worth, then I’ll be happy and satisfied with that.

What about you guys? Would the LTT community appreciate having all the videos in HDR? I hope this post can reach Linus and he at least give it some consideration. I’m more than willing to do a couple videos for free as well as a show of my skills and the difference in video quality.

Thanks everyone

The forums are not the way to get a job. They have a lot of specific requirements they need to meet and have labor laws they have to abide by. If you're looking at getting a job with LMG, you would need to go through there official LMG site and apply: https://linusmediagroup.com/

Historically, when a new position opened up, Linus would include the information to apply for the job in the video description and that was it. I wasn’t aware there was a communication channel available for moments other than those. So I thought this was a good way of getting Linus attention as well as getting a feel for community excitement for the idea.

And also, it would be beyond amazing to be hired as an LTT employee but, I’m fine with just being treated as a private contractor. Doing so is something that would make things more flexible for LTT to hire me as they wish.

Regardless though, it wasn’t my intention or wish to break any rules in the forum. If my post goes against the forum rules, I’ll delete it immediately. Just say the word and it’s gone.

You didn't break any rules, just that the forums aren't really a way to try and get hired by LMG.

I am not sure how much demand there would be for HDR given that I have a feeling not many people are rocking HDR capable monitors. Also LMG as a company upload multiple videos a day based on what day it is. This could mean that you wouldn't have much time to do your work to make sure that the video goes up on time.
