Hello,

I've been trying to overclock my AMD 8320 CPU for a while now, but it seems like whenever I change anything, be it up or down, my computer can't seem to handle it.

The screen starts to freak out and I'm forced to reset to factory settings. Is there any reason why this would be happening that I could fix, or is it just bad parts?

My specs are:

Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 Motherboard

8320 AMD CPU

Kingston ram (16gigs)

MSI 7850 Twin Frozr 2 GPU

Case: Lian Li PC011-D - CPU: 3900x - GPU: 2080ti Reference - Mobo: Gigabyte - Ram: Corsair 4x16gb 3200MHz - SSD: 2TB Samsung Evo NVME

It depends a lot on your cooling, with STOCK cooling i wouldnt recommend any OC. Do you have any aftermarket cooler? The max safe voltage for Vishera CPU is 1.55v but thats only with a custom water or in soviet russia (hahaha). Anyways, I got my FX8320 upto 4.8Ghz with a Corsair H100i rock solid, but temps were kinda hot and also my PC sounded like a jet engine. I managed to get 4.4Ghz with 1,38750 temps unde heavy load is around 40, and at idle it would be around 20. The same chip with a Hyper 212 I was able to get only 4.1 and that was hot as hell, very close to the 60 celcius! Keep in mind that this chips shouldnt run hotter than 62 for the CPU and 72 for the socket.

To check those temps use Hardware Monitor, what you see on HMonitor as the CPU TEMP is the actual SOCKET TEMP, and what you see as PACKAGE TEMPS is the actual CPU temp.

Socket seems to be something like 10 celcius higher than CPU.

Hope any of this can help you
