If your workloads can take advantage of the 2 extra cores (rendering, code compile, streaming w/CPU encoding, etc) the 3700X makes sense, as when fully utilized, it's a bit faster than the 5600X.

 

If you're gaming, the 5600X is faster across the board and basically always will be, because unless a game can fully utilize both CPUs, which is unlikely, the 5600X with its better cache layout and single core performance will win.
