Is this system moderately future proof ?

Go to solution Solved by Didrik,

First i would recomend getting another internal hardrive or tear the external drive apart and put that none inside (Less chanse of someting going bad physically to the drive.

My assumptions
GPU: 2-3 Years (AAA Games 1080p med/high 60fps)

RAM: 4-7 Years
SSD: NOW (128gb in my opinion is way to smal for a os drive in 2021)
PSU: After CPU and GPU upgrade probably.
CPU:  2-7 Years (6 Cores that can boost at ca 4ghz will be good for a long time for 1080p i believe but you can never totally know)

Nothing is future proof all thing ages i know but can this system perform admirably for the next 5-6 years ?

My Primary works are graphics designing , editing mostly 720p videos , Photoshop works , Gaming at 1080p at 50-60 fps , Content consumption (lots of)

Cpu : i5 9400 upgraded from g5420 Pentium

Ram : 16 GB DDR4 2133 (Upgraded from 8)

Motherboard : Gigabyte H310M M.2 2.0

SSD : 128gb Transcend 110s

Storage : 2.5tb drives (some usb one Sata)

PSU : Gigabyte P450b 80+ Bronze  (i know its a suspicious unit but its running fine for 1 year so no complain )

GPU : Asus TUF gtx 1650 Super 4GB DDR6 (not gonna oc )

Well considering the 9400f already stutters in new AAA games I'd say it's already not current proof.

So if you want a part by part list:

Cpu: Already not enough
Ram: Sure fine

Board: It's a motherboard not a good one and cannot handle the only relevant cpu on the platform which is a 9900 so well not a good board

Ssd: Extremely small not great at all

Hdd: Yeah those are not going to be usable when the ps5/xbox series become the main consoles

Psu: Sure it runs for now. These WILL die at random you are literally running on luck. The amount of people that I don't come across with the yeah it works fine for me and then it breaks is too damn high

Gpu: Fine for now probably going to last a couple of years at 1080p

Doesn't matter on 9th gen. Barely a difference.

Psu wattage means little it needs to be a GOOD QUALITY psu too. 450w is plenty good for this system as is but not on that psu they have.
