Alienware M15 R5 Ryzen has extreme overheating issues.

My laptop (R7 5800H, RTX 3070) has extreme heat issues. 100+ cpu gaming, 60+ Idle, 80s just browsing the internet. Now i'm sure most of you think my laptop is defective, but it is not! All of these do this. There are multiple online videos and posts about it. My goal is not to look for a solution but to get a recall. Guys please help, this is terrible. Linus please make a video!

Ok so go return it and get a different laptop? A lenovo legion 5 does great.

They'll realize things are performing badly soon enough and you'll see the review score tank.

 

If you can do so this laptop is defective in the sense that you are losing out on performance when cheaper thinner laptops have no problem what so ever with these specs.

A detailed thermal test is needed to see whether you got a lemon heatsink

 

Also please lift the laptop and use G mode (max fans), the airflow is poor and auto fans are too slow

Alright I played rocket league tonight. Thermals stated around 70c. Within 3 mins it stayed pegged at 97-102c the entire time. Same with destiny 2 with unlocked frame cap. Now raised up, it will hit 95-100c. Still lava hot. I've downloaded ryzen controller to set my temp limit to 95. It massive downloads the boost to a max of 4.1 ghz and stays pegged at 95c. Even max fans it hits high 90s.

I'll send linus my laptop if they will look at it. Same for gamers nexus. This is terrible.
