Hello, so I have ASUS H310-Prime MOBO and I have 2x8GB RAM sticks. My PC have been booting successfully before I updated BIOS version from 0803 to 2416. Now it can not boot when I fill 2 slots with 2 sticks - none of the sticks are broke, I checked every possible positioning, I have tried to put every single ram in every single slot like ram-1 to a1/a2 and ram-2 to a1/a2, both sticks are working and the PC is booting only when there is 1 stick attached. When there are both sticks at once, the pc speaker does not even signal POST beep. I searched in the internet what possibly could it be. I tried to turn on XMP but it did not resolve my issue, also I changed voltage to 1.4 and did not fixed it too. Does it mean my motherboard broke? Maybe I can still fix it somehow? I mean I can survive on 8GB ram but yeah, it would be good to get another 8GB right. Thanks for any response.

I have already tried. I updated from 0803 to 3020 at first take and then I downgraded it to 2416, tried to go lower but it did not let me do it. When downgrading from 2416 to 2402 it said it is not proper BIOS file.

I'd try resetting CMOS first, then try to boot with both sticks.

I also have changed the CMOS battery few days ago because my BIOS was resetting its settings every reboot, so the CMOS should be already reset, no?

Depends for how long you removed it and if the PC was removed from power at the time.

I'd advise using the jumper pins to reset CMOS.

Thanks. I will try that out tomorrow and I will let you know about the results.

Hello again, so I have reset the CMOS with jumper pins - BIOS have loaded settings to default and it still did not fixed it. I have also changed the thermal paste and.. PC booted with 2 sticks but only once - after first PC restart it still was boot-looping. I have no idea what probably could be the issue, the only thing I know that the CPU Cooler changed something, but that is it.

maybe you've mounted your cpu cooler to tightly.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x3D | MoBo: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk | RAM: G.Skill F4-3600C15D-16GTZ @3800CL16 | GPU: RTX 2080Ti | PSU: Corsair HX1200 |

Case: Lian Li 011D XL | Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe 500GB, Crucial MX500 500GB | Soundcard: Soundblaster ZXR | Mouse: Razer Viper Mini | Keyboard: Razer Huntsman TE Monitor: DELL AW2521H @360Hz |

Yes, I thought so too. I have read on some other forums that it could be the issue. The only problem is... I have box cooler for CPU and I do not have any screws between cooler and mobo, I have only mount pins so I can not really „untight” this I guess. Only thing I can do is to unscrew fan from the radiator, but that is it. Correct me if I am wrong.
