NEED to replace PSU fan

Well, I love my CX430M. But the fan is terrible. The bearings are already shot in it, and whenever you bump the case, it stops spinning. I need a replacement fan for it, since I don't want it to die. And I don't care about the color at all. I don't know what size fan it has either, so...

I'd spend more RMA'ing it. It would be cheaper to get a nice Noctua fan for it.

Another possibility would be putting more lubricant in the fan bearing. That might fix it for awhile.

Heck, try dropping some vegetable oil in it then .

My dad would not allow that to happen. Again, Noctua is the easy way out.

Although, if you're contemplating on doing this, my current advise would be to break out the ENTIRE fan connector and cable to the motherboard. That way, you have absolute control over the fan. Just dump an NF-F12 in there and make it run at ~400 rpm. Should be good and about as quiet as an actively cooled PSU can be. To give you an idea, I'll make a video with the sound. Give me a minute here.

Buy a new one....lubricating is just a temporary solution and doesn't even work that well in most cases...

I would advise AGAINST messing with the connector on your PSU PCB. Just cut the wires from the fan and solder the new connector on to them.

This just made everything a thousand times harder. I could probably pick up the things I need to solder and do moderately good for my first time, but we don't have anything needed to solder.

Then just twist the wires together and put heat shrink over it... Should be fine.

I never thought of it and it's so simple. I'll go order an NF-F12 when I go back to my mom's, along with some NH-T1.
