Mixing RAM Latency

I have bought a DDR4 4GB RAM 2666MHz latency oF CL 19. My laptop is i3 6th gen 6006u, it was preinstalled with a hynix 2400mhz cl 17. Will mixing these speed and latency effect.my system or render my system dead?

Most likely what will happen is it'll run the 2666 mhz ram at 2400 mhz. So you won't get the full speed but nothing will break.
