Hi Everyone,

I've got a bit of a financial dilemma concerning computers and I was confident that you'd be able to help! So, I have a friend who is soon going to university in another country and so is buying, as you do, the new Mac Pro. He currently has a Hackintosh and is offering it to sell it to me for $665 / £400; here's the part's list:

 CPU Intel i7 3820

MoBo ASUS Rampage 4 Extreme BF3 Edition

GPU EVGA GTX580 HC

RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB

HDD Corsair F180 PSU Corsair HX1050

Case: Custom built w/ window, worth about $150

Cooling

2x XSPC RX360s

XSPC Rasa

2x Laing D5

12x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm

OR

I could build my own. This is, obviously, much more expensive and slightly less amazing currently, but would be more fun, easier to upgrade and more modern. This is the parts list on pc part picker: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3n83o coming to around $2500.

Any advice on either upgrading either build or just which one I should get would be extremely appreciated,

Thanks a lot,

That offer is WAAAYYY too good to pass up. Buy his rig then slap a 780/290X with some sort of waterblock on it into the rig.

What are you going to be using the rig for?

I would do what everyone else said take his rig and put a 780 in it

If you wanted to build your own rig though for gaming heres a better list http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3n90p

Thanks a lot for the list; really helpful.
