No, what you need to do is enable the XMP setting. Just changing the DRAM frequency will likely cause your system to fail post.

if you are running RYZEN, 2866 at 1.37v with 16-18-18-36 timings will get you close to the rated speeds. vengeance RAM and RYZEN have some issues with the "3200mhz" rated speed. these are the settings that I spent 4 reinstalls of windows and 6 hrs of frustration precision tuning and have had many people have success with.

Do you know where I could find a guide for this? It seems to run at 3000mhz fine but only time will tell

Its literally right above the DRAM Frequency. Just click on the auto on the right and it should give you an option or 2 to enable XMP.

Oh ok that’s all? I do remember seeing that option. Sorry I’m a noob with overclocking

Yep, its that easy. If they give you more than 1 profile to select from, just select profile 1 and it should be good.

Thank you

Setting XMP but having it still on 3000 will give you 3000 with XMP timings.

You will need to set the 3000Mhz you set to Auto, XMP settings will force it to 3200 if its on Auto and XMP is then enabled.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
