HELP!!! Destroyed my motherboard with a screwdriver.

Go to solution Solved by Gohardgrandpa,

Replace the board and take it easy next time

Hi,

I just slipped while working on my PC and apparently, I cut some traces. My gaming rig is now completely useless and I hate myself.

When I power on my PC, my screen doesn't turn on, but the "CPU"-LED does. I have (or had) the MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge WiFi.

Please, is it somehow possible for me to fix this myself or get it fixed? Here are some pics:

The scratch:

EDIT:

The situation was hopeless and I ended up just buying a new motherboard.

Thank you guys!

you follow the leads on the mobo and solder a bridge wire to the cut connectors, to jump them.

else there isnt much you can do i think

You may be able to see a repair shop that can do board repairs, as it seems to be mostly surface components which could be jumped pretty easy.

Its time consuming but if you can identify the start and end of each trace that is damaged, they can be jumped

but on modern boards this isn’t a home fix, you need very precise soldering hardware and some decent skill setting up quality jumps and patches

it'll be cheaper to buy a new/secondhand motherboard

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!
