Android 11 in a A53 / Mali-T820

Rai L

Hello, first time posting here

I've got my hand into a brand new phone with ancient chipset

Background:
I live in Malaysia and there's gov incentivized program where you could get mobile plan rebate for a year, and this one particular telco, YES 4G, one-upped it with a FREE phone . It didn't specified which phone during the registration, so I bet it must be some old Androids. It turned out that they went to the extend to make their own phone, the YES Altitude 4

Specs / Highlights

  • Cortex A53 / Mali-T820
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB storage BUT with adoptable storage
  • 2 SIM slot + 1 SD card slot (total of 3)
  • 2 Back Camera
  • Treble support but idk if it's being used at all
  • A/B partition seamless update, but the update is still quite slow, idk if it's due to inferior specs or it's not being used
  • Removable battery @ 2800mAh / 1A charging brick, refuses to charge any faster

Could anyone tell

I'm not sure if this is worth any attentions but IMO having Android 11 (Android GO) on such an old chipset really proves that "too old for Android upgrade" is just plain BS
