Why are 6900XTs topping 3DMark charts?

Hi there,

 

I was wondering why out of the sudden 3DMark TimeSpy charts are being overtaken by 6900XT all out of the sudden.

 

Their GPU scores are really good, but isn't 3090 faster / on par?

 

I'm just trying to get my head around it as someone with ambient cooling managed to surpass LN2 3090 and 11900K at 6.6Ghz etc.

The 3090 and 6900XT are kinda similar at stock, with the 3090 a bit faster, but as I've seen the 6900XT tends to have more headroom. There's a BIOS lock but I'm certain that competitive overclockers are circumventing it with firmware mods. There's also the leaked 6900XTX with no bios limit, maybe a couple chips are out there being toyed with on 3D mark.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

For real though. Synth marks are obliterated by OC'd cards, and AMD models are -in general- better at that

I'm baffled because they started coming in literally just now. Previously they struggled hard. There must have been a driver that boosted the performance beyond belief.

3 months ago there was only one card 6900XT on TimeSpy. Like, it really struggled to even get there and now those are beating LN2 cooled 3090s so something is weird here.

I'm pretty stoked to see this. Nvidia dominates the market and they're the ones to thank for GPU's now being so fucking expensive ($1200 2080ti? fuck off...) it's good to finally see something aspirational from AMD despite their product stack being inferior in RT games.

I was 25th in TimeSpy which made me a little happy that it's pretty decent now I can't even get on leaderboard so not too happy for spending much money haha
