PC parts list (any help appreciated)

MM25564

Hello people,

I recently put together my first PC parts list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/CtFKwz. Any advice / comments are appreciated. My budget is £600 GBP ($829 USD / $1000 CAD / €700 EUR) at a maximum. I will be using this PC for gaming, video editing and maybe streaming in the future!

Thanks!

It's a good list. Her are my notes and changes.

CPU: You can fit a 3600 in this budget.

Motherboard: A good board, but so is the mortar max for less.

Memory: good choice 👍

Storage: You can get similar performance for cheaper by going with a different TLC drive with DRAM cache. The A80 in this case.

GPU: Good luck 😅

Case: Try to get something with an open front panel for good airflow. The 275R is one option. Or the Focus G.

PSU: Get something of a little better quality.

Thank you for the suggestions however, with the 3600, I am just wondering about GPU bottlenecks... I am not sure if the 1060 would keep up...

seems like a pretty good build my notes are you could probably get a better cpu and a gtx 1060 is a little slow so most titles wont be able to run on high settings

That's not really a concern. The 3600 will allow the GTX 1060 see achieve it's peak performance. In the interest of achieving a more balanced build given a limited budget, you might step down the CPU in order to step up the GPU, but in the current market, I think you will be hard pressed to do so.

A GTX 1060 paired with an R5 3600 will perform better than a GTX 1060 paired with a R5 1600.

Brilliant, thank you. Plus if I get the 3600, they I will have room for GPU upgrades down the line! Thanks!

Using a single stick of RAM will severely impact performance, especially with Ryzen.

The case you chose looks like a hotbox.

The power supply you chose is pretty low end.

I can't say I'd recommend any of those options.
