VPN router with support for IKEV2 in client mode

PrinceTek

Hi, Guys...I'm a fan of Linus Tech Tips, always tuned in to their Youtube Channel so I figure the best place to get some advice on this could be here. Does anyone know what VPN router may be best for setting up as an IPSEC VPN CLIENT?...I'm pretty used to OpenVPN as it's one of the "Ancients" from my perspective, but I am on a project that requires a VPN connection that provides faster speeds than we are getting with our OVPN setup, and it seems the solution is to change protocol so we now need to source something good enough that can use either IPSEC or WireGuard.

It highly depends on what other features you need and what speeds you want to achieve, but a FortiGate is probably the cheapest enterprise-grade solution you'll find.

The Fortigate 60E (FG-60E) seems to sell for around 500 dollars (list price) with no additional licenses (which you probably don't need anyway). It can do 2Gbps of IPSec throughput so that should be more than enough for your usecase. It it also a fully fledged enterprise firewall.
