Could someone help me out with thermal paste i wish to buy one but no idea which

I've bought Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut before but idk about buying it again.

Would be appreciated if someone can help out by sharing their experience with this
I've found https://www.tomshardware.com/best-picks/best-thermal-paste

But i'd rather get first hand experience from people that used this stuff.

Thanks in advance. : )

I mean they do show a graph where they display the measured temperatures when using said pastes. They're a computer oriented site, so they aren't completely pullig that list out of their asses.

Personally I still use MX-4, which apparently would be just about the "worst".

My personal favourites are Thermalright TFX, and SYY-157. Right now I would go with SYY-157.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with MX-4. Tried it recently because I ended up being out of Kryonaut when I went to install my new Artic Liquid Freezer II. It was so goopy, and the performance didn't seem to be as good. Repasted with Kryonaut as soon as I got some more in.

It's mostly because that's what I have lying around. I've never really bothered to check, but looking at this I may just order some different stuff for the next repaste after I clean my loop which has been due for negative 6 months already.

Depends on the exact type of MX4 being used, there is a variant that has carbon in it that works really well, even a little better than Noctua and I have both kinds to know this with daily and XOC based useage.

Grizzly is really intended for XOC use because that's what it's formulated for and I can't justify the extra expense of it vs maybe a couple of degrees difference between it and the others already named.

I mean it does work but for the cost per gram and the difference in temps seen vs the others it's just not worth it for a daily machine.

yeah, i noticed there are several versions of "mx4" how do you know which is which though?

i could swear the one i had previously (LE 2019) was better than what i have now, just a "regular" one… the consistence is slightly different too 🤔

The variant I used is called "Carbon 2019 Edition" and it works greast, even for subzero stuff.
