This is my first attempt at a PC build.

I am thinking of buying the pc before the end of the year but more likely in a month or 2.

I would like to play at 1440p at above 100 fps.

Due to the gpu shortage I dont have one included, but the processor I  picked has onboard graphics. I will look at a RTX series gpu after but that wont be part of the budget for now.

Don't bother deciding on a build until you're ready to buy, part availability, pricing will all change.

As for the parts you picked:

  • Just for gaming there are better/cheaper choices like the i5/Ryzen 5.
  • Don't bother with that CPU cooler, spend just a little more on a Noctua.
  • I wouldn't get an MSI motherboard.

I'd look into the 5600x with stock cooler.  The 9900K is a bit old, though still amazing!!!!, but I'd not get it with all the current generations out now.

Buy Windows 10 Pro on Ebay or similar for under $10 if you want.

The ebay keys are random keys, and most random keys are 3$

And for the non random ones its around 20$ from sites like scdkey and you can use youtuber promo codes aswell

Since you have the budget, you could opt for a 5800x and/or 32gb of RAM.

Lets be real here, its either rainbow puke or good gpu at this price point

5600x 6 core, good pure gaming cpu cause good singlethread

The cooler is rather cheap cause i suspect you arent gonna oc

Same goes for board

No rainbow puke on ram unless you wanna spend an extra 20$ (ram is 72$)

Cant keep the rgb on the case, thatll be an extra 25-30$

50$ sounds small but add that to 775$ and youve got 825$ total which only leaves 325 for the gpu instead of 375

You want rainbows or actual performance?

Up to you but i heavily prefer performance over looks
