need air cooler suggestion

Momenaut

I just installed a new 9700k system and used my old h212+ in the build but hit 94 degrees in the 3d mark time spy cpu benchmark which is too hot for my liking. I'm wondering what kind of upgrade to my temps I can expect with a better cooler and which ones will fit in my case (antec one.)

If you want cheap dual tower, then maybe Gelid Phantom Black.

Edit: maybe too high...?

Then Scythe Fuma 2

I edit my posts more often than not

I found the One!

Says you have a Max CPU Cooler Height of155 mm.

I had the be quiet! Dark Rock TF on a 6700k and it worked well.

Is the cpu running at stock or are you oc'ing? What's the core voltage at under load?

That's strangely high for stock. Are you running default motherboard settings? If so, Multicore Enhancement may be enabled which is basically an auto-oc. Make sure that's disabled if you're planning to run at stock.

Have you tried reseating the cooler?

I was hoping not to have to reseat it. I shelled out for kryonaut and it's kind of a one shot go. I plan to run turbo and all that just no manual oc. Only settings I've touched are turning off the c states.

An order of Kryonaut should be plenty for multiple applications. Did you use the entire tube?

What motherboard are you using? Did you check and see if there's such a setting enabled?

Turbo boosting is part of stock clocks but may be enhanced / raised through motherboard settings.
