Help finding a game from 2000(ish)

I just had a random flashback to a game I once played as a kid. I remember it being at the same time I was playing aliens vs prediator.

 

The only thing I can remember is being some sort of marine/soilder. I would walk down a gangway to a chair, you would sit in the chair and a portal would open and you would be flung into combat. 

 

Any one have an idea as to what game I am remembering. I have the sudden urge to play this game now but have no idea what the fuck it is.
