I have an issue with my Bluetooth not working every couple weeks. I had read that static electricity could be the problem and that unplugging and holding the power button to drain it fixes the problem. This has worked for me but the problem keeps recurring every few weeks, forcing me to shut down, unplug, and hold the power button to drain.

Any thoughts on what the problem is or how to fix permanently would be appreciated. I built this computer 7 months ago, specs listed below

  • 5600 x
  • 3070 MSI Trio
  • 32 GB (8x4) 3600MHz
  • B550 Gigabyte Aorus Elite
  • 650 Watt PS

Win 7 or 10? Update drivers. Honestly shutting down computer now and then is recommended in general.

I have had way worse than something failing every couple weeks. Too much interference from apartment building with so many wifi signals detected by my router. I can't use bluetooth at all.

If you're really not shutting down the PC for weeks it's likely not any kind of interference and not the unplugging etc that solves it, just a crappy driver that breaks after a certain time running and the reboot fixes it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry if I made it seem in my last post that I never shut down my computer, I do but every week or 2 I will power up my computer and the Bluetooth isn't working so I have to power off the computer, unplug and then hold the power button to drain. I had this happen again today and restarting or shutting down didn't work, only unplugging worked.

It's not a big deal but it's annoying when I power on my computer only to power it down again when I see bluetooth isn't working. Below is the discussion where I found the unplugging solution. If anyone has an idea to a permanent solution I would appreciate it.
