So, I have a computer with good ol windows 8.1 and I don't know what to do with it. Right now, I just use my computer for listening to music. So, what should I do with it? Is there any cool software/programs out there to have fun with?

If it's not your main you could try installing a Linux distro on it and learn to navigate Linux :)

I don't know how to do these things and I don't know what I would use a NAS or HTPC for.

NAS is for more storage for the network and a HTPC is like a server for your TV, like to manage recordings, videos, shows, movies, etc.
