I have the space I just heard something about getting a new kit when you add ram

Generally speaking if you get the same kit again it should be fine. The problem is when you get two different kits that have different ram timings that can make things a bit difficult.

If you have 2 more slots, sure you can just get 2 more. Try to find the same kit.

It's possible you might have to go down to 3200 or something if your IMC isn't up to it.

i5-14600KF // 120x38MM Cooler Master AIO // B760i // 64GB DDR5 6000 // PNY RTX 5070 // Cooler Master NCORE 100 Max // Cooler Master V SFX-850 Gold // UWQHD AOC Display

???

if you just want more, then add more of the same sticks (same speed and GB).

If you don't have space, or upgrading then a new kit, which I doubt you need or when wanting a full new build in a couple of years.

or you have to go on about your specs, else it's just add more of the same RAM.

that just comes to widely different rams, were too low speed with high speed ones can cause issues.

Nobody would say that the same ram won't work, although can't be 100% certain that it will be problem free when adding new stuff.

As some RAM might be defective or have to adjust BIOS to make the system use it.

Or your imc simply can't handle 4 sticks running at high speeds vs only 2 sticks. Granted that hasn't been the case with most of Intel cpus and ryzen 3000 and 5000. Ryzen 1000 and 2000 would for sure have issues running 2 sticks vs 4 sticks at the same speed.
