Budget (including currency): Ideally would like to keep it below $1200 USD not including the capture card but honestly that might just not be feasible

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Multiple instances of OBS(up to 6 instances with two pushing streams to YouTube and Twitch with four recording isolated video streams locally), black magic ATEM software, telestration software, twitch app

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Ideally I’d like to build this thing in a Velka 3.  It will be coming with me on planes and the like and the amount of gear I am carrying with me for an event means every bit of space possible is needed.

I do not want to use a GPU in this if possible, I’d like to just use onboard graphics for the CPU as I need a PCI capture card for the number of inputs(Looking like the new Elgato Cam Link Pro assuming something horrible doesn’t come out about it in the near future, if for some reason thats not usable I will go with a magewell).

This will consistently be using 2 monitors, but if there is a way to run 3 comfortably I would like that option. The first big event I would need this for is in October, but ideally I want to build it as soon as possible to really get everything set up and put through its paces so I’m comfortable with it before event time.  I only mention it as if there is something significant coming out in the next month or so that would make this significantly better I’m happy to wait for a short period of time.

Thank you so much for any help, I’m a camera guy not really a PC guy so this is a little overwhelming.

I do think you'll need some form of gpu acceleration here and I'm not really sure a 10900k would be enough as that is the best cpu you can have right now with integrated graphics.

What system do you use now for doing this? Do you even have something to run this on right now? It would be really helpful if you could give us a frame of reference here. Doesn't have to be running this exact same setup but anything that gives us a frame of reference can help us help you better.

Unfortunately I’m really not running this right now, I have a relatively simple streaming machine at home as a desktop but the traveling show is something that is new, as well as the expansion and complexity of the stream.

To qualify, this is to be used to stream miniature tabletop war games at conventions with the goal of being able to stream up to four tables simultaneously with the cameras being connected through a black magic ATEM mini extreme ISO.  My home setup only streams a single game at a time and is a pretty standard size desktop which works fine but isn’t an option for traveling.  Like I said, this is all pretty new for me 😞 If its not possible, then its not possible but I was really hoping lol

What specs does your home system have and when streaming how much cpu and gpu is used?

From this we can extrapolate forward and take steps into the right direction.

I thought you meant 6 streams instead of 4. 4 should be totally doable depending on well input and output resolution, bitrate,...

I’m not at home right now so unfortunately I cant post the exact specs of that PC right now.  But let me qualify, it will only be actually uploading two streams.  One to YouTube and one to Twitch, these will be 1080p 30fps streams.  The other four OBS instances will be recording a single window capture that will be used for YouTube video editing later and saved locally to the hard drive, the quality of those can be pretty low as the only thing it is recording is an app output for a timer app in the game.  The input and encoding from the ATEM mini extreme is all done in the external hardware before it makes it to the computer, so it will all come in at 1080p 30fps

Oooh ok yeah this is beyond totally doable then.

If you can I'd wait for the ryzen 5700g so you have a better gpu for gpu acceleration. These launch on august 5th. It's also a far more efficient and easier to cool cpu which is kinda nice to have in a itx system :p.

Issue here is that the 5700g which is an 8 core amd apu is the fastest apu, but amd were sissys this time and they cut down the vega cores to 8 instead of the 11 that can be found in a 3400g

Oh and doesnt matter how far you oc the igpu, removing 3 cores = slower

Yeah I was looking at the 5700g, august would be no problem, would still give me nearly 3 months to test and fine tune everything, what else should I look at?

So is the 3400g the better option then?

As you are a streamer you need the extra cpu cores, but you also need the gpu power aswell, too bad all the options you have are massively gpu bottlenecked.

Maybe wait for ryzen 6000 cause supposedly amd will be ditching vega and swapping to rdna 2 next gen or nex next gen and it might have 12 cu, better hope when they improve it, they wont cut down the fking gpu part -_-

Also a reason why intel really needs to catch up to amd so this crap doesnt happen

Is there any estimate for when ryzen 6000 might be coming out?

Probably 16gb of ram and whatnot. I'll make a quick build that has the basic parts.

Do watch out for the psu as well it's a tight fit. As for the board it will most likely need a bios update but has no cpu bios flash options.

The 5700g's gpu is better than the 3400g vega 11. Why? Optimizations and much higher clock speeds. Been tested been proven.

So 5700g is a no brainer here.

Would going for one of the flex atx power supplies they mention on the velka3 website be better for the case then?

Alright, so 5700g is the best option then, good to know

That looks like a decent option, but I was hoping to keep it into the smaller form factor of a Velka3 or a Fractal design node 202 since I need to travel with it/put it in a carry on. Space is at a premium sadly 😞

The case is just a taste and you can change it also the thermaltake is a small factor

Ok, but the PSU you’ve suggested is an SFX style and if I wanted to go with the Velka3 to keep things as tiny as possible it specifically says it cannot accept an SFX power supply.

The thermaltake is a SFF but the dimensions of  10x10x12 is a little awkward to fit into a backpack or a carry on bag.  That’s why I mentioned the velka and the fractal design node 202, they might not be a ton smaller than the thermaltake but they way they’ve configured their dimensions makes it much easier to put into a carry on easily

Then get a node 202 with a sfx psu plenty good options out there.
