Hello all! I have a pc that has been used for 6 months that had a gtx 1650 in it, i sold that card and put an rtx 2060 in it. I used it for a day and while I play I see that my gpu usage is only at 10% and my cpu around 80%. I've tried everything to make it go higher but nothing works. I often get fps drops out of nowhere or low fps, should I upgrade the cpu?

PC SPECS:

• AMD RYZEN 3 2200G 3.5Ghz

• MSI RTX 2060 6GB

• ASUS PRIME A320M-K

• Corsair DDR4 Vengeance 2x 4GB 2133mhz

• Corsair VS650x PSU Fully Modular

• 120GB SSD

• 1000GB HDD

• SKIRON D-RGB 140 Case Fan

• Cooler Master Hyper H412R CPU Cooler

• Cooler Master MasterBox MB520 Black

If you could help me that would be very nice.

Best regards Zoerab.

It would most certainly seem like a bottleneck between the processor and the GPU. I would recommend upgrading to a better CPU. When you see percentage usages like that, it means that there is a bottleneck. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Should i also upgrade my ram to 16? And which cpu should i upgrade to, maybe amd 5 3600?

The CPU is now definitely the weak part of your system. Any four-core without hyperthreading doesn't cut it for AAA games in 2021, and also keep in mind the 2200G is a Zen 1 part (APU's are on step behind what their model numbers suggest) so your IPC is quite bad compared to more recent chips, you basically have that 2060 paired with a Ryzen 1200.  You could try playing at higher resolutions to shift more of the workload to the 2060 but upgrading the CPU should be your next priority.

That 2133mhz RAM is also going to hold back performance on a Ryzen system somewhat seriously so if you can't enable an XMP profile to give it a substantial boost I would also prioritize getting a 2x8GB kit of at least 3200mhz CL16.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Get a whole new kit, otherwise you will be stuck at 2133mhz.

Really, the ram is the biggest issue:

Ryzen likes fast ram. A lot. If you give it 2133, it's like crushing it's neck and trying to make it breathe.

A kit of 3200mhz cl16 would be a huge help

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)
