Blender or Openshot

Hello All members. So I have starting video editing. I just do cutting , add text and creating
pointing sign(showing someting in video). currently I am using blender. so Should I
use openshot or blender to video editing.I can't afford Adobe Video editing software.
My spce is

CPU : i5 3470S
Ram : 8GB
HDD : 1TB
GPU : GT 630 2GB DDR3

Davinci resolve or blender if you want to keep using blender.

https://kdenlive.org/en/ is another free & open source option.

OpenShot if you want something really simple, Kdenlive if you want more features.

Davinci Resolve is excellent and also free if you want to try it.

Blender is okay, I don't like video edit in Blender though.

And I never heard of Openshot tbh.

I like the open shot user interface . Is it user friendly?

OpenShot is straight forward, great for beginners.

Kdenlive UI and workflow is a lot more similar to DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere.

 

So if you believe you will never need anything more than what you mentioned "I just do cutting , add text and creating pointing sign(showing someting in video)" then I say stick with OpenShot,

If however you believe you might some day want to do more complex / Pro level stuff then I'd recommend starting with Kdenlive since it will be a lot more capable and might actually cover everything you need, or if it doesn't then the transition to commercial stuff will be a lot easier.

Hello all members. So I add 3 videos in openshot.when i tried to do
some normal editing  (cutting ,audio extracting).It start show in task manager  "not responding". so is this happening because my PC is Low end or It's software bug ?
My PC spec
CPU : i5 3470S
Ram : 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
GPU : GT 630 2GB DDR3
HDD : 1TB 7200 RPM

Considering you only got a HDD, I would always suspect HDD before anything else.

I brought this HDD 2 month ago . I also check health everyday i startup a computer

That doesnt mean its healthy nor what I meant. Check your Disk Usage during this operation.

HDD usage is fine but CPU Usage is 76 % . And Ram is DDR3 i added 5 video clips in open shot

So I was editing a video . I was doing a normal video editing . I used the openshot.
The first problem :
when I was start rendering I saw in task manager that openshot used 86% of my CPU.
when the render was finished I saw it was targeted to CPU so when I try to change it
to GPU but I could not change it.How do i change it to GPU/CPU & GPU.

The 2nd problem is I record a gameplay. The length of the gameplay is 12:02 minutes .
I just do some normal edit like remove some part from the video and and add a
normal watermark text. the size of the gameplay was 183 MB. After rendering
the size was 883 MB. So How do i reduce the size.The gameplay was record in 1080p
it was rendered at 1080p

There is an option of Bit Rate, reduce this to like 2000 kbps or 3000 kbps....If you want higher quality then 6000 kbps will do.

Bit Rate controls the quality and size of your video, more bitrate means more quality but also larger file size.

I use Openshot for video rendering on Windows 10. Openshot doesn't support GPU rendering on Windows
It only support CPU rendering. At the time of rendering it use 86% of my CPU. So will my CPU
get damage for this.

If the cooling of your CPU is adequate, it will not get damaged. Even if a task uses 100% of the CPU resources, if it's kept cool enough, it shouldn't take any damage.

Why do people still bother with free video editor outside of Davinci Resolve? Honestly puzzled.

 

Anyway, loads are not where you should be worried on. Its the temperature. Anything at 95c and above is pretty much gonna be in the thermal throttle window for most CPU lineups especially Intel's so if that happens, that means you gotta check the cooling for dusts, thermal paste dryout or anything malfunctioning.
