Hi! So this is my first time ever posting on something like this so sorry if im bad at this or anything!

So long story short my girlfriend messed up her CPU and ended up trying to straighten some pins but ended up knocking off 2 pins by mistake.

We replaced the CPU with a Ryzen 9 3900x but my question is where could i sell this CPU? I know its not worth anything really but i dont think it was ground pins that got snagged off so i was looking for some input on what to do with it.

Thank you!

Its a Ryzen 9 5900x

Could sell it on eBay as for parts/not working, at a deep discount of course. It is possible to put pins back on as I think they demonstrated in a fairly recent LTT video (maybe the one where they upgraded Luke's PC), but it's not work the average person would be capable of or want to bother with. On eBay you might find a person who would, though.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

I took a look on eBay but couldn't find a single Ryzen chip with missing pins for sale. You could try selling it as in on eBay, there's a slim chance enough people have seen Linus's videos and are looking out for CPU's to buy and would be willing to pay $100 or so for it. But that seems pretty unlikely.

Personally I agree with what the people above are saying, ideally try and find someone or somewhere that has an SMD reword station you can use. Buy some used pins off eBay and give it your best shot, I wouldn't want to sell the CPU if it was me because IDK how long that sort of rework will last.

What cpu was it? I'd base my efforts at what the value of the cpu is. 5950X, I'd put a lot more effort into than something like a ryzen 1200.
