On-board graphics not displaying.

I am trying to run my second monitor off of my integrated graphics hdmi,  I've enabled igpu multi-monitor in bios. I have already updated and activated the drivers.  When I plug my secondary monitor in the hdmi port for the motherboard there isn't any display,  nor can I manually detect it in display settings.  

 

Please,  any and all help would and will be tremendously appreciated.  Could the port itself be messed up? It's less than 2 months old.

I do not, eventually when I have some more money saved,  the i5 will be upgraded.

I think the integrated graphics are automatically being turned off, because you have a graphics card plugged in.

So both monitors will work if I connect both to my 1660 but I do no want both connected to my dedicated gpu.

The problem with that is,  it will no display at all,  even without a dedicated gpu. I don't want it to be faulty hardware but it is kinda looking like that hdmi port is scuffed.

If it doesnt have video, when the graphics card is removed, then it likely is the port on the motherboard, or the integrated gpu.

Isn't he able to do this through nvidia control panel to ensure his IGPU is constantly turned on.

Man, that sucks, but I appreciate the insight.  Thank you all for your wisdom. 

When I get off of work I'm going to do some more testing.  Will update if I fixed it.

This response doesn't quite indicate that you understand the intent of the question.

 

The 10400 has an iGPU, and so you can enable multi-monitor in the BIOS and plug a second monitor into the motherboard as you have done.

 

However.

 

The 10400F does not have an iGPU. And therefore you cannot connect a second monitor to the motherboard.

 

The "F" version is a lower cost version of the 10400.

 

So, are you absolutely sure you do not have the "F" version?

I think he was plugging 1 monitor into the gpu, but the other one into the mobo. The mobo only has 1 hdmi port

Check the BIOs setting to make sure your iGPU is enabled.

 

In the BIOS, go to

• Advanced > Chipset ocnfiguration
• Scroll down to IGPU Multi-Monitor
• Set this at ENABLE

I already had that done man,  it's in the original post.  But very good advice for others.  I believe my problem is a faulty hdmi port.

To reiterate,  I am positive I have the i5 10400. Not the 10400F
