New CPU, PC doesn't boot.

I have installed new CPU (Ryzen 7 5800x) on my  B450 Aorus M. And now my PC doesn't boot. I see that the CPU status LED blinks once when i power up PC and then DRAM status LED stays in red color...what should i do. I tried getting battery out and putting it back in, i switched RAM slots (i have 2x16gb sticks) i tried using my old RAM that is 100% working and that gives me same red light. PSU and CPU fans are spinning but I'm not getting picture on screen.

Try checking the cables

B450 boards don't support Ryzen 5000 series out of the box. You may have to update your BIOS first. If no update is available, then you will need a new board.

On it's site it says it does... So you're saying i need to put my old CPU in (Ryzen 5 3600X),update BIOS and than install new CPU?

Yes, that should work.

I just looked it up, you need at least BIOS verion F60 to use a Ryzen 5000 CPU on your board. That version was released March 5th of this year, so most likely you don't have it if you haven't updated the BIOS lately.

Yea.. I didn't update it lately so that should fix the problem. I'll try it first time in the morning. Thanks all for fast replies, I'll keep you updated.

Update: Problem is solved by updating BIOS.

 

I have another question and that is what are optimal temps for my CPU (Ryzen 7 5800X) i have Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black cooler.

Under 95C hopefully.

Hyper 212 is not a high end cooler, but an affordable one.

The 212 should be no problem with a stock 5800x. Enabling PBO might be fine? I wouldn't overclock though.

 

I think after 85c Zen3 starts to very lightly throttle, the hard throttle kicks in at 95c

It's not going above 90.
