Advice for my first build?

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, browsing the web, recording for YouTube (not streaming ATM), software development (should be capable of compiling stuff decently fast)

8-core 16-thread CPU preferred due to the compiling of software workload

This is my first build but I've watched/read enough to understand how to do it.

I'm fine if switching to AMD for the CPU is the best choice.

You say no NVidia GPUs...  and list an NVidia GPU in your build?  Wut?

 

So, for slightly more than your list, you can get an iBuyPower with a GTX 1660 Super GPU, and a 240mm ARGB AIO:

(Change to i7, pick a different 240mm AIO, and poke around elsewhere.  Including cases for a minimum price difference.)

@tkitch: I've reworked the Motherboard and GPU, added a wireless card. I've figured out how I can make a NVIDIA card work for my usage. It's a little bit above my budget, but I think I can make this work.

Please no NVIDIA graphics cards! (I have my reasons...)

air cooler sucks for this processor cus it’s tdp is low. you will not get the most out of your processor.

for AIO? i know nzxt and corsair make good aio coolers, but they are pretty expensive. people like @Downkey know better than me on how to easily save money.

Yeah.. the NZXT Kraken X53 is ~$117 USD currently and that would put me about $250 over budget ($1600 total absolute max I would say)
