I believe that shows up because whoever replied before had their account deleted, but I am not sure about that

It looks like you're right about it being a deleted member. For some reason, when a member is deleted the forum does smart deletion for most content, but just wipes out the rows in the database for status replies. It's not something that I can hook into to control either, since it's right in the middle of a big method of deleting stuff, and it's before any of my code gets called for the deletion. In summary, you're going to have to live with it.
