Hello all, the 27th of this month my comp will be 3 years old, in this time I've been watching the life of my ssd and looking other users ssds still at max % even after a lot of years, so Im wondering if mine is doing good after seeing the total host writes at 18tb... and I listen any advice to take care of the ssd. Im using it as an only system and programs ssd, rest is on hdd.

PS: I know for a fact that one of the last Windows updates (dont know wich one) did reactivate the disc defrag program on default so maybe that eat some of those tbw... Is there any options on the windows update I should deactivate?

Thank you in advance.

This drive has an endurance of 100TBW. Terabytes written to the drive before the NAND should wear out.

With 18TB written to it in almost 3 years (or let's say 20TB for 3 years for easiness), that means you have about 12 years of identical sort of use left on the drive, or it's at 20% of its 100% life.

So basically, I wouldn't worry about anything at all. Defrag generally still is not recommended to use on an SSD though.

The bug with the defrag tool goofing up on SSDs and *actually* defragging them has been fixed for quite a while, it works like it's supposed to and just runs TRIM operations now. No point in disabling the schedule for it anymore.
