Watercooling a Zotac twin edge 3070. I got my 3070 at launch in november and the thing that has been bothering me from the start was the amount of noise it created. It's a very small card and watercooling would definetely be the next step. I've found this ekwb block, but it's made out of aluminium and I've heard that mixing metals isn't a great idea, but I would otherwise have to go with brands like bykski. And isn't aluminium parts nickel plated like the copper ones?

Theres nothing wrong with Bykski or Barrow, if u can get a copper block for a similar price to a EK Alu one, then grab the copper block. Just make sure u check delivery times etc when shopping on Ali.

You can mix metals, but its not recommended. You'd need to run an anti corrosive coolant, and keep on top of maintenance to ensure corrosion doesn't become an issue.

EKWB even states on the product page you shouldnt use Fluid Gaming Parts with Copper/Nickel/Brass.

So simple answer: better not use aluminium

I am aware of that, I have just seen it done before and was curious what the problem would be since corrosion can be held to a minimum.
