Rm vs rmx

I am looking to get a new psu and I can’t find many differences between the rm850x and rm850 and I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

The RMx uses better fans, slightly better components.

The advantage of the RM is that it is cheaper and there are no in-line capacitors in the cable.

Decrease the ripple a little. But it hurts cable convenience. In-line capacitors exist only to get good scores in reviews.

I think RMx is better if it's a 10 dollar difference.

Choose according to your taste.

The fan isn't really too different between the two.

And Japanese caps aren't actually "better components".  😄

But we live in an era where it is not allowed unless it is a 'Japanese cap'. Isn't it so?😆

I've heard from JG that Elite actually owns the best capacitor factories. How is the quality of Elite and Japanese caps compared?

I know they are both made by Honghua. What exactly is the difference from the NR series?

Even the Japanese caps are made in China.  Unless they're solids.  And many of them are made in the same factories as "Chinese" or "Taiwanese" brand, but with label changes.

Old solid caps are still actually "Japanese" and even then, not all of them.

Currently, nothing.  They both use the same Melexis IC and have the same fan blade design.  The reason Corsair branded the HH was to differentiate because there were still a lot of companies using the off-the-shelf Hong Hua with the cheap driver IC (*cough*Seasonic*cough*) and Corsair didn't want reviewers to assume the same was true with Corsair PSUs since reviewers typically just look at the model # of the fan and don't actually tear into it to see the differences.
