Cheapest good VR goggles

I just want to be able to play games like Euro Truck Simulator and F1.  I'm actually more interested on using it like a monitor rather than a full blown VR with hand controllers.

Any suggestions?

rift s or quest 2 works well, low priced..only thing that suck is you need a facebook account connected to it

Will a BS account do?  Non linked to a cellphone...

I just read reviews on Amazon and seems like you are required to have FB on your phone to be used with the headset.

I dumped FB last November and I'm glad to have left that toxic environment.  I can do without the VR headset if it means I must have FB steal my privacy.  Thanks!

If your OK with used market, you may look into Windows Mixed Reality Headset used market. You can get like an Acer, HP, or Lenovo headset for $100-150 just looking on Ebay.

 

I will say hardware wise the Quest 2 is way better and probably the next best option if you don't want used. But you will need to get the linked cabled or try the wireless option assuming you have a high end WiFi router at your house. And you also have the Facebook requirement

 

Unfortunately there isn't any "cheap" headset anymore beside the Quest 2. I think the cheapest new one is the HP Reverb G2 for ~$600.

 

If you could really were a savvy shopper, you could try an piece together a Steam VR system. You would need at least 1 base station and 1 controller( it would be much better if you got 2 base stations and 2 controlers). and a headset. Something like buying a OG Vive kit/controler/basestations and then buy the Index headset and use the controllers and base station for the Index. You might be able to do that for 700-800 if you were really got good deals.

on the phone? ive never heard that, but i guess a facebook on a phone is as good as on a comp. and as for a fake account as long as you use realistic info it will work. BUT you rift or quest is locked to that account.
