CPU: I7-9700 (non k)
GPU:RTX 2070 super

MB:h310m pro-vdh plus
Ram:1x16gb 2666mhz
PSU:EVGA 650 W

My gpu is most of the time at 60-90% usage in games and Cpu is at 30-40 in some games and can be at 60-70 in high cpu demanding games.I've tried a lot of things like doing a clean install of Windows, deleting drivers and updating them, etc. None of these "fixes" worked. My settings on Nvidia are on maximum performance. This issue is really annoying. I play games at 1080p and my monitor is a 165hz G-Sync compatible.
Any tips that would fix my problem would be appreciated.

Play your games at a higher resolution so more burden shifts to the GPU.

You haven't mentioned anything about what actual frame rate you're getting. If you're obsessing over GPU usage while getting good fps... stop doing that.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

I get what you mean but i cannot play at an higher res, because my monitor is a 1080p monitor and yeah im obsessing over gpu usage because i wanna get the most frames i can from my gpu.

Not every game is going to absolutely peg your GPU. Want to see usage go up? Try putting settings higher. If you're not seeing 100% usage on either your CPU or GPU, then the game simply isn't taking full advantage of your hardware likely because your hardware is overkill for running said game.

Single channel ram may be holding your system performance back a bit.

If you're playing a lot of older and/or less graphically intensive games, and want to push your GPU harder, you could sell your 1080p monitor and get yourself a 1440p.

I just bought my first 1440p, and there's a noticeable picture quality difference.

Could also experiment with downsampling.

alright i think u are right but the only thing that's frustrating is that i see gameplays by people with the same specs as me getting higher frames because their gpu usage it at 90%+ so i feel like im missing something. Maybe its the single channel ram

I have the same situation when I'm playing LoL on my GTX 1650 gddr6, it never uses more than 34% of VRAM.

I can't play higher than 1440p because I have no 4K monitor and I get above 200 FPS in LoL.

So it could be that the game doesn't need more.

I need to test with other games and see what I get.

Idk what that is. could u explain it to me please?

Basically running the game at a custom resolution higher than your display's native resolution and then sampling from it for a sharper image.

https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh-010

Fair warning I don't know how good the support for it in newer GPU's is, it's a feature that was made much of a few years ago and then kind of fell by the wayside. But if you're determined to flog your GPU and don't want to buy a new monitor...

If you have a few bucks i would go for dual channel and return the 1x 16gb if your still able to.

yeah i can totally afford a dual channel and btw do you think upgrading the mb is worth it too? i know mine can only support 2666mhz idk if that makes a big difference

ok do that and tell me about it because i played game like cyberpunk or days gone and my gpu usage is around 80% so yeah

It should usually be around 90-100 but as we talked about up there might be the single channel putting a bottleneck on it.

Ok thx for your help man everyone seems to recommend changing the ram to a dual channel. Does the speed matter that much or?
