First Mechanical Keyboard

Begx

Hi guys,
new to the mechanical keyboards and in the community.
Recently I am looking for a good mechanical keyboard for programming. Currently I have cheap 20$ membrane keyboard and I am typing on laptop so I don't really have much experience on mechanical keyboards. (I have tried Coolemaster masterkeys and HyperX Alloy) My budget is around 200$, 250$ max with all costs. I don't know should I build my keyboard since I live in Europe and don't know many websites for keyboard parts and I can't do soldering and buying expensive extra tools etc. I would like to build it because of the customization and I would like some extra stuff like better cable, inner padding, keycaps, metal or wooden case and better stabilizators, but if there is some stock nice looking 60% keyboard with aluminum frame (I would like to go 60% because of the arrow keys integrated on the letters and everything is so close when I get used to it I think.) under 250$ i would considered it buying. There is so much choice and switches idk. I found Ducky Mecha Mini mx Brown very good but not so sure about sound is it silence enough.
Tnx guys for the help...

Then dont get soldered board, get a hotswappable one. Its literally just pushing a bunch of switches on the right orientation. But i understand if you dont want to be in that venture at all, atleast not yet.

I really love to automatically choose the EPOMAKER GK68X at this size. Its available in aluminum frame, hotswappable, and it comes in Type-C wired or wireless. It should cost you 170 ish with their configurator.

Rule of thumb: If you dont know, either have a listen at their voice sample, sample it your own by buying switch tester kit, or buy individual switches.

I will watch the review of EPOMAKER but I think I will go with custom but with swappable pcb.

I dont exactly struggle to find it, you can find them at mechanical keyboard stores like kprepublic or mechanicalkeyboards.com, or you can find them at amazon, just search <insert switch brands here> tester. But sometimes, if you need specifics, you gotta go buy individual switches.

If you want a nice custom but don't want to build yourself KBD Fans sells fully assembled kits. The only thing you need to do is pop on some caps.

Thank you man, hope I can get how swappable pcb so I can lube switches and get some decent stabs and maybe pad for dampening sound.
