Browser, version and OS: 

Chrome 90 on Windows 10

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Hours before this I disabled following all content from @Schnoz and proceeded to select everything but status updates.

 

What happened?

I got a notification for a status update even though I specifically deselected it.

 

What did you expect to happen?

I expected not getting any status update notifications from that user since deselecting them.

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

No.

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Status updates are implemented separately, and are only controlled by the global notification settings. It would be possible to also include status updates in the supported types, but the implementation wouldn't be super straight forward so I would want to know that it affects several people before making changes here.

This has happened to me too.

For a few people I'm following, I have Topics and Status Replies enabled, but nothing else. I still get notifications from them though.

If it happens again I can screenshot it for you.
