Only guides are indian youtubers with sketchy links which can just make it worse

Use guides from reputable malware defence program companies...

NUSM is ransomware; if Windows Media Player can't play the video files you have, then I'd be suspicious enough of the file in the first place.

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

You downloaded ransomware.

You can try using Emsisoft Decryptor for STOP Djvu from https://www.emsisoft.com/ransomware-decryption-tools/stop-djvu, though you're more than likely out of luck. You can read about the variants of this ransomware here.

alternatively you can check out this website guiding you on the decryption process and removing the malware:
https://www.myantispyware.com/2021/05/20/how-to-remove-nusm-ransomware-decrypt-nusm-files/
I can see why windows defender or any AV didn't trigger if OP had anything other than windows defender. the ransomware is pretty recent.

edit: This ransomware uses the technique called "STOP Djvu", should be easily recoverable.

Make sure to quote me if you want me to respond
Thanks :)
