Is it neccessary to reapply new thermal paste

I am taking part my GPU to customize it. I have never taken apart a GPU. Do I have to change the thermal paste or will the old thermal paste work when I put it back together?

how old is the gpu?

2 years. I have been using it to mine the past 6 months in a dust heavy environment though. Probably should change it anyways tbh

Yeah, it's advised to apply fresh paste when taking cooler off (and cleaning it).

The old paste might do (rarely), but if the temps get high you'd have to re move the cooler again.

I edit my posts more often than not
