Can G-sync work through thunderbolt 3?

Guys am wondering can thunder bolt 3 act like a display port. I have a laptop that the gpu is not connected to the igpu of the cpu. Do I need a USB hub with display port or just a dongle? I have hdmi, TB3, mini display port and I am considering a monitor with g sync so that is why I am asking.

Sometimes if you're using USB C to DisplayPort it will work, but not USB C to USB C.

I've used a cable that was usb c/thunderbolt on one end and DisplayPort on the other with Gsync before and had no problem. Thunderbolt carries a DP signal so it should work just fine.

Ok, thanks for the help. I think the USB c shows up as display port anyways shown in the pic.
