Would Canvas detect me tabbing out if it's inside a virtual machine and I click on tabs outside the virtual machine?

Canvas can detect activity such as tabbing out or clicking outside of canvas. If I load canvas inside a VM and click outside the VM, would it still detect me? This is obviously theoretical only and for research purposes.
